We recently bought our beautiful 3 storey home which used to be the grain store for a local brewery, but it needed that wow factor to bring it into the modern interior world!
We could see the potential and couldn’t wait to make some changes. One big change was knocking down the dated, unused conservatory stuck on the back of the house like a non-swimmer clinging to the side of the pool!
In it’s place our amazing builder has made real our design building a beautiful modern extension incorporating the living area opening on to the garden with a set of striking bi-folds…..same level as the garden, same tiles as the patio bringing the outside in!
Obsessed with Interiors I thought it was a great opportunity to ad lib on one of the walls in the new extension. I wanted it to be like nothing l’d ever created before and push the boundaries a little bit….
I’d been to a reclamation yard and seen some very beautiful patterned wood which I thought would look amazing fixed horizontally on the wall. I’d kept the idea in my head for a while and when the chance came to add my creative touch I had to think again as the budget wouldn’t allow for that piece! But not deterring me, I still wanted the wood look, I came up with the idea of new scaffold boards……my builder was great and sanded them so I could see some of the knots and impurities.
Adding a couple of lengths of the copper strip within the design and all round the edge, along with an LED lighting strip which lights up the edge of the wall.
WOW it has the wow factor!
It’s so much better than I ever imagined it could be! I’ve added some final touches to make it the room in our home I never want to leave!
How do you bore an idea out of know where……I think you need to get a feel for the area, what are you using it for, what type of look are you going for, will it stand the test of time, will you love it when it’s finished! I absolutely love it!
Happy & Obsessed with Interiors…..
